Mary Garnell Maxey Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 31, 2023, at the age of 90, Mary Garnell Maxey of Athens, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Otha Osborne and Levie Osborne; her husbands, James Hampton Palmer and Cecil D. Maxey; her siblings, Mildred Anderson and Dwayne Osborne; and her close friend Maggie.
She is survived by: her daughter Alisa Palmer Capes (Gary) of Evans, GA; her grandchildren, Jason Capes of Dallas, GA and Jamie Capes Richardson (Andrew) of Savannah; and her great grandchildren, Bennett and Baker Richardson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
