It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lee James Padgett of Athens, Georgia, born in Cordele, Georgia, who passed away on May 8, 2022, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernell Gillespie Padgett and Thomas Jackson Padgett; his sister Ann Padgett Gabbard; and his parents-in-law, Brady and Betty Corley.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Corley Padgett; his children, Jessica Padgett Venables (Tristan) of Charlottesville, Virginia, Thad Padgett (Beth) of Athens and Gabe Padgett (Kristen) of Carrollton, Georgia.; his grandchildren, Jonah, Milla, Hollis Venables, Brady, Thatcher, Walker, James Hanks Padgett and Corley Padgett; and his siblings, Jack Padgett (Pam) and Debbie Padgett. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Lee to Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, 201 Dowman Drive, Atlanta, Georgia 30322 att: Jennifer Daly. These memorials will go towards cancer research and finding a cure for cancer.
