He is survived by: his sons, Gary Avants (Sharon Satterfield Avants) and Clyde Jerome Avants; his grandchildren, Melissa Crowe (Casey), Jordan Avants, MaryStuart Hulsey (Chris) and Tara Avants; his great grandchildren, Lily Crowe, Kaya Crowe, Harper Hulsey, Amelia Hulsey and Timberly Finch; and his friend Polly Doane.
