He was predeceased by: his parents, George Haley Fortson and Anna Julia Bunch Forton. He is survived by: his wife Martha Holloman Fortson; his daughter Julie Fortson Paul; and his siblings, Haley Fortson, Ben Forton and Patricia Sandlin of Alabama. He is also survived by two grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
