He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar William Mashburn and Edna Parham Mashburn; his wife Ruth Marlene Adams Mashburn; and his siblings, William "Ray" Mashburn, Earl D. Mashburn, Betty Jean Mashburn and Dorothy Mashburn Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Kilgore (Kenny) of Athens, GA, Jeanne' Lee-Pearce (Jim) of Buford, GA and Greg Mashburn (Kim) of Athens, GA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
