He is survived by: his wife Wennell Mitchell; his children, Derrick Smith, Fredrick Thrasher, Cedrick Mitchell, Tiffany Mitchell, Ellis Bernard Ballard, Jr., Trevor Johnson and Tonya Ballard; and his sisters, Rosa Lee Blackwell (Stan) and Amy Collins (Dennis). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Viewing was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Jackson-Mc Whorter Funeral Home (1253 W Broad St, Athens, GA 30606). A celebration of life was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church (59 N Main St, Watkinsville, GA 30677).
