With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Murphy in Athens, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 9, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Murphy and Lucile Whitfield Murphy; his son Chuck Murphy; and his siblings, Darby Murphy, J. P. Murphy, Sarah Johnson, Dorris Wooten and Marry Ann Bobbitt.
He is survived by: his wife Marianne Murphy of Carnesville; his son Rocky (Anna Murphy); his daughter-in-law Sherrell Murphy of Carlton, GA.; his grandsons, Gavin Murphy (Bentley) of Carnesville, Rhett Murphy (Becca) of Homer, Brock Murphy (Haley) of Gainesville, Matthew Murphy (Mallory Gunderson) of Bowersville and Cole Murphy (Laney) of Hartwell; his great grandchildren, Creed Murphy, Rhaema Murphy, Josie Murphy, Lexie Murphy, Liam Lucarell and Tatum Murphy; and his sisters, Evelyn Eavenson, Betty Jene Eavenson and Linda Goebel.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ginn Funeral Home (90 Church St, Carnesville, GA 30521). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM at the Franklin Memorial Gardens (9589 GA-59, Lavonia, GA 30553).
