She was predeceased by: her parents, E. Calhoun Grier and Gertrude Grier (Glass); her husband Fred David Herzog Jr.; her brother Perry; and her granddaughter Elizabeth Claire Herzog.
She is survived by: her sons, William David and Richard Alan; her sister Clarabel Noyes (Chinx); and her grandson Miles Alexander Herzog.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Athens Community Council on Aging which Carol supported by driving for the Meals on Wheels program.
