He was predeceased by: his parents, Jace Raleigh McElrath and Iva Hunter McElrath; and his siblings, Cloyce Boyer and Tommy McElrath. He is survived by: his wife Wilma McElrath of Athens, Georgia; his children, David McElrath (Susan) of Powder Springs, Julie Beal (David) of Claremore and Jane Lunceford of Athens, Georgia; his sisters, Joyce Finazzo of St. Louis, Lela Campbell of San Diego and Deborah Klessinger of Bevagna, Italy; and his grandchildren, Jason (April), Jonathan (Jessica), Joseph, Nora, Christopher, Andrew, Stephen and Heather.
