He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Alice Garner Wright; his stepfather Col. Robert Wright; his grandparents, Dr. Sam and Bonnie Garner; his son Patrick; his wife Mary Margaret (Phillips); and his son T. Russell (Rusty).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Salvation Army and Floyd Springs United Methodist Church.
