It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Wakefield of Arlington, Georgia, who passed away on May 17, 2021, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Curtis Wakefield; her parent Alice Burt Whitfield; her stepfather Willie Whitfield; her daughter Mary Alice Turner Whitehead; her brother William D. Burt; her stepbrother Jimmy Whitfield; and her grandchildren, Calvin Wakefield and Carol Ann.

She is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn, Selinda Wakefield, Albany of Georgia, Gwendolyn Broddie, Augusta of Georgia, Dianne Wakefield (Family Caregiver), Terri Key (Harvey) and Cathy Merritt Americus (Reginald); and her grandchildren, Linda Carol Patterson (John), John W. Whitehead Jr., Senora Whitehead, Lenore Whaley (Sam), Leanne Carter (Chad), Carlton Burt (Meshigyn), Allison Broddie, Kimberly Broddie and Jeffery Wakefield (Latonya).
