He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lewis and Mary Louise Smith Sowell; his wife Annie Maud Hammock Sowell; and his brother John Earl Sowell. He is survived by: his children, Maryann Romasavage of Allentown, PA, Kathy Lynn McCarthy (Clinton) of Edgewater, FL, Mathew Sowell, Martin Sowell of Arlington, David Sowell (Jeanna) of Slyvester and John Sowell (Teresa) of Sylvester; and his siblings, Nettie Mae Sowell of Milton, FL, Rita Burns (Jerry) of Shellman, Dwight Sowell of Cottondale, FL and Thomas Sowell of Americus, GA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
