He was predeceased by: his wives, Sletta Leigh White Woodard and Myrtle Holland Woodard; his parents, Michael Lynn and Gladice Branch Woodard, Sr.; his daughters, Gloria Jean Woodard and Pamela Louise Woodard; and his grandchildren, Allen Thomas Beach and David Arnold "Phoo" Woodard.
He is survived by: his children, Dennis Lynn "Denny" Woodard and Sue Ellen Woodard; his grandchildren, Tammy Leigh Woodard Brown (Kris), Shellie Woodard Simmons (Jeffery), Michael Dennis Woodard (Kim), Samantha Lynn Woodard White (Neal), Sandra Leigh Woodard Reeves (Chip), Joseph Walter Woodard and Brock Stewart Woodard; and also Debbie Carter. He is also survived by great grandchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.
