He is survived by: his wife Sandra Gilchrist Thomas; his children, Winston Gilchrist (Candace) of Lincolnton, GA, Robert Thomas (Ashley) of Evans, GA and Elizabeth Johnson (Alex) of Lincolnton, GA.; his godchildren, C. J. Payton and Chasitty Perry; and his sister Martha Ruff (Steve). He is also survived by grandchildren.
