He was predeceased by: his wife Hazel Snellings; his parents, Willie "Bill" and Mary Snellings; his daughter Lynne Hawkins; his great grandchild Colton Baldwin; and his sisters, Barbara Ann Gay and Emily Gay.
He is survived by: his daughter Joy Newman (Roy); his grandchildren, Brooke Hinton, Brandon Baldwin (Aliya), Jordan Newman (Megan) and Heather Turner (Jason); his great grandchildren, Aaron, Wesley Hinton, Courtlyn, Brantley Baldwin, Brady, Bryce Newman and Kaylee Turner; and his sister Joyce Williams.
