He was predeceased by: his wife Rosetta Thornton; his mother Shellie Blackshear (Mary Ellen Ousley); and his siblings, Rose A. Roberts, Vera M. Watson, Fannie M. Williams, Delores Blakely, Mary N. Stewart, Roger Blackshear, Robert Blackshear, Freddie Blackshear and Shellie Blackshear, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Mitchelle Blackshear-Evans, Wanice J. Blackshear, Tameka Sims, Marchon Blackshear, Michael J. Blackshear (Tiffany), Derrik Thornton and Lamont Thornton (Myra). He is also survived by grandchildren, great grand-children, loving nieces and caring nephews, friends.
Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing. Graveside services are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels.
