She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Belvy Short and Ruth Lee Turner Short; her husband Harold J. Israel Sr.; her daughter Peggy Israel Urash; her son-in-law Bruce Johnson; and her siblings, L. L. "Jack" Short Sr. and Patsy Short Medlock.
She is survived by: her children, Beverly Johnson of Smithville, Charles Israel (Tracy) of Smithville, Hal Israel (Dawn) of Smithville and Mark Israel (Sharon) of Smithville; her brother C. W. "Bobo" Short (Nancy) of Americus; her sister-in-law Frances S. Short of Americus; and her grandchildren, Justin Johnson (Susan), Alan Johnson (Whitney), Allison Jordan (Crit), Trevor Israel, Chance Israel, Delanie Michas (Michael), Kelly Burrell (Britt), James Israel (Ken), Eric Israel (Jenna), Kayla Jones (AJ) and Peggy-Claire Smith (Jake). She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hebron Baptist Church (1951 GA-49, Americus, GA 31719). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery (1951 GA-49, Americus, GA 31719).
