He is survived by: his son Jay Chappell; his daughter-in-law Jessica; his grandchildren, Pierce and Talley Chappell; and his sister-in-law Betty Jane Chappell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
