It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eddie James Reese Sr. (Americus, Georgia), who passed away on September 17, 2024, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Eddie James leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewel Reese and Wallace Reese; and his brothers, Wallace Reese, Jr. and John Reese. He is survived by: his children, LaShala Reese (Korey Murphy), Oceana Deriso, Eddie James Reese, Jr. (LaShina Reese) and Corey Thornton; his siblings, Annie Reese, James Reese (Wendy) and Leon Reese (Sharon); and his aunts, Bobbie Player and Bertha Dice. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
