He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Tatum and Mary Short Tatum; and his siblings, Doris Sumner and Johnny Tatum. He is survived by: his wife Ann Hearon Tatum of Americus; his children, Lisa Newman (Zane) of Americus, Arthur Tatum (Daphene), Murray Tatum (Beverly) of Demorest, GA, Mike Hearon of Smithville and Gary Hearon (Jackie) of Americus; his grandchildren, Hayden Tatum, Chase Tatum, Chloe Tatum, Ginger Lee, Chris Lee, Blake Lee, Brittany Lightner, Michael Hearon, Jessica Hearon and Heather Hearon; and his caregivers, Lillie Height and Patsy Robinson. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Aldridge Funeral Services (612 Reese Park, Americus, GA 31709). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home Chapel (612 Reese Park, Americus, GA 31709). A burial was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery (309 Rees St, Americus, GA 31709).
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Shiloh Baptist Church in Americus.
