He was predeceased by: his parents, Almon Erkhart Sr. and Betsy Lee Phillips Erkhart; and his brother Bill Blume. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Joan Harris Erkhart of Americus; his daughter Misty Gattis (Chris) of Americus; his grandson Alex Gattis; and his brother-in-law Johnathan Harris (Angie) of Americus. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Home Foundation 3000 Hwy 42 North McDonough, GA 30253.
