He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Rufus Porter and Louise Coker Porter; and his siblings, Virginia Mangrum, Ronnie Porter and Alfred Porter.
He is survived by: his wife Nellie Jones Porter of Alto; his son Terry; his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Porter of Cornelia; his daughter Sandy Porter of Alto; his grandchildren, Claire Dean and Sarah Daniels; and his siblings, Teresa Johnson of Oregon, Joyce Nicks of Gainesville, Paul Porter of Gainesville and Frankie Porter of Gainesville. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
