We are sad to announce that on March 1, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Merle Miller of Alpharetta, Georgia, born in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Gooden and Evelyn Gooden; her husband Lonnie Miller; and her brother John Gooden. She is survived by: her daughter Denise Johnson; her son-in-law Phil of Canton, GA; her son Ray Miller of South Weber, UT; her granddaughters, Shannon Miller Frith (Corey) of Spring, TX and Lauren Porterfield (Tim) of Roswell, GA; her great grandchildren, Marissa Miller, Hunter Porterfield and Walker Porterfield; and her sisters, Dorris Cook, Florence Cox, Nadine Evans and Marsha Faucette. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID, a Memorial Service will not be held until Saturday, June 12 at 10:00 in Bladen Memorial Gardens, Elizabethtown, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be sent to Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church, 2929 Selwyn Ave., Charlotte, NC 28209, in honor of Merle's passion for Selwyn's longstanding partnership with Montclaire Elementary School.
