He is survived by: his wife Margaret Murrey Caplis (Meg); his children, James Thomas Caplis of Madison, Wisconsin, Mary Elizabeth (James Ream) of Madison, Wisconsin, Anne Marie Caplis of Dallas, Texas and Madeline Diane Caplis of Raleigh; and his grandchild Maeve Iris Ream. He is also survived by Four brothers and a sister.
