He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Daniel Sheppard and Verlie Hall Sheppard; and his siblings, Sue Gurley, Billy Sheppard and Thomas Sheppard.
He is survived by: his significant other Elaine A. Sheppard; his daughters, Kristen Finley (Kevin) and Meredith King (Mike); and his grandchildren, Morgan Finley, Dorothy Finley, Charlotte Finley, Sheppard Finley, Gracie King and Marcie King. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
