He was predeceased by: his parents, George Charles and Pauline Dawson Hertling. He is survived by: his wife Gertrude "Trudy" Mabee Hertling; his children, Jeffrey P. Hertling (Barbara Schulz) of Alpharetta, GA and Marie Bauschka (Joe) of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren, Ashley Teplis (Jeff), Jonathan Hertling, Paige Stoddard (Jordan), Mitchell Bauschka and Claire Bauschka; and his great grandchildren, Hannah Teplis, Patrick Teplis and Matthew Teplis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
