He is survived by: his wife Marie Dolores Garrett; his children, Dudley William Garrett III (Jodi Schulman Garrett), Christine Dolores Hilliard (Jeff Hilliard) and Russell Carlton Garrett (Malika Garrett); his grandchildren, Brandon James McCraw, Christine Brooke Hilliard, Anna Marie Swank, Miles Mayon Garrett and Aalia Meera Garrett; and his great grandchildren, Brodie McCraw, William Lawson Swank and Hadley Annette Swank.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Alpharetta (44 Academy St, Alpharetta, GA 30009). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Oakland Cemetery (374 M. L. K. Jr Dr SE, Atlanta, GA 30312).
