He is survived by: his wife Ronna Ruppelt; his daughter Casey; his son-in-law Jeffrey Pelfrey; his grandson Charlie River Pelfrey; his mother-in-law Marlene Cohen; his sister Kristi Jalics; his siblings-in-law, Darryl (Jane Walter) and Renee Higer (Pierre Delafranconi); and his nieces and nephews, Alice, Michael Claus, Emily, Ingmar Rauschert, Andrew Jalics, Connor Ruppelt, Codie Higer, Kyle Walter, Lela Walter and Hannah Walter.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bridgeway Hospice and Emory Winship Cancer Institute.
