He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Gardner Carter and Myrtis Loyd Carter; and his sister Nell Rose Fey. He is survived by: his wife Mozelle "Pug" Carter; his children, Angela (late Donald), Darrell (Pam) and Alan (Rosie); his grandchildren, Thomas Gwin, Zachary Carter Dawson Carter (Dana) and Cameron Carter; his great grandchild Brooks Carter; his siblings, Debbie Soles-Smith (Jerry), Kim Ford and Timmy Carter (Tisha); and also, Ricky, Michelle and Chris. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, long time friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM and at 12:45 PM. A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218).
