He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Stanley LayPort and Allean Skinner LayPort; and his brothers, James Elton LayPort, Floyd LayPort, Billy LayPort and Stanley LayPort.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Flowers LayPort; his children, Robert LayPort, Jr. (Ashton), Douglas LayPort, Ashleigh Thomas (Daniel) and Samantha LayPort; and his siblings, John Wilson LayPort (Tina) and Sharon Collins (Danny). He is also survived by five grandchildren.
