She was predeceased by: her father Junior Earl Gurley; and her brother David Gurley. She is survived by: her mother Othedias; her husband Bradford Carter of Alma; and her children, Kristy Cartledge (Cabe), Jessica "Kojack" Jones (David "Tex") of Alma, Matt Carter of Hazlehurst, Josh Carter (Cindy) of Columbus and Christina Carter of Hazlehurst. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
