He was predeceased by: his parents, John Deral Whitaker and Mary Vonnette Landrum Lee; and his stepfather John Franklin "Frank" Lee. He is survived by: his girlfriend Angela Griffin; his brothers, Kenneth Dearl Lee and David Whitaker; and his grandchildren, Addison Newman and Camden Merritt.
