He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Sterling McCarty, Sr. and Mary Rachel Carter McCarty; his daughter Sherry McCarty; and his siblings, Lamar McCarty, Ernest McCarty, D. S., Jr., Ruthel Dyal, Alberta Herrin, Blanche Safely, Ola Mae Steedly and Edith Rix.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Collier McCarty; his children, Barry McCarty (Karen), Mark McCarty (Dana), Connie Jarrard (Doug) and Diane Spell (Danny); and his sisters, Dessie Osbon and Virginia Boatright. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Alma Church of God (202 W 20th St, Alma, GA 31510). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
