He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Phinizy Meeks, Sr. and Catherine Hazel McCoy Meeks; his wife Cona Britt Meeks; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Laite, Wayne Jones, Sr. and Roger Boatright.
He is survived by: his children, Alton Britt Meeks (Sandy) of Waycross and Sarah Thornton of Alma; his grandchildren, Alton Blake Meeks (Anna), Taylor Renea Thornton and Julia Katherine Griffin (Gunner); his sisters, Marilyn Laite and Terry Jones; and his sister-in-law Joy Boatright. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (201 N Church St, Alma, GA 31510). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
