He is survived by: his children, Matthew Peters (Gayla), Charlie James Peters Jr., Vanessa Isaac (Stevie), Barbara Peters, Joseph Reed (Sabrina), Steve Mosley (Carmen), Dontavious Polite and Elicia Polite; his niece Adriana Evans; and his cousin David Peterson. He is also survived by loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
