She was predeceased by : her parents, Rev. York Sr. Jones and Mariah Jones; her children, Hazel Thornton Broadway, Christopher James and Roosevelt "Tootie" James, Jr.; and her grandson Timothy "TJ" James, Jr..

She is survived by : her children, Minister Gregory Jones (Laverda) of Fayetteville, Lelia James, Alton James, Timothy James (Timika) of Albany, Michael James (Kimberly) of Riverdale and Biafra James (late Kevin Sr) of Albany; her daughter-in-law Mattie James; her grandchildren, Deborah, Fred, Chris, Machell, Cornelius, Malcolm, Lawanda, Corey, Dominique, Kim, Kawanda, Kiara, Christopher, Cappericcia, Jada, Jaunae, Jamoni, Kynarrius, Kynard and Kevin; and her great grandchildren, Tiara, Vinson Jr., Fred Alexander, Lyndin, Savannah, Leilani, Chance, Jordan, Indya, Courtney, CaYanna, Briana, Marvin, Nicole, Rylan, Karsen, Kymeria, Chanel, Kamryn and Kaiden. She is also survived by Granny by her 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Poteat-Wakefield Funeral Directors - Dunbar Chapel (435 Dunbar Ln, Albany, GA 31701). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Second Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church (6411 Newton Rd, Albany, GA 31721). A burial was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 at the same location.
