He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ben Hobby and Geneva Erskine Pope; and his daughter Carrie Dean Hobby. He is survived by: his wife Lydia Graham Hobby of Alapaha; his children, Mark (Maria Hobby), Bobby Gene Hobby, Jr. of Bremond, Texas and Sherri; his son-in-law David Ruble of Waco, Texas; and his sisters, Patricia Thames of Florida and Judy Fuller of Florida. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
