He is survived by: his children, Brenda Thornton (Dannie) of Jacksonville, FL, Sandra Starling (Jimmy) of Starke, FL, Joyce Rowe Jones of Hahira and Stephen Gaskins of Cleveland, TN; his grandchildren, Joseph Gaskins, Melissa Thornton Hott (Joe), Crystal Thornton (Missy), Dannie Thornton, Jr, Jennifer Starling, Brennan Starling, Austin Gaskins and Spencer Gaskins; his sister Gloria Gaskins Ferrell (Mal); his siblings-in-law, Nellie Smith, Marie Mathis, Vanita Steverson, Billy Steverson (Louise) and Lamar Steverson (Gail); and also Eric Ferrell (Susan). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
