She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred James and Rosa Ethridge James; her son Douglas Truelove; and her siblings, Fred L. James, Bill James and Nancy James.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rose Marie Wojdyla (David), Kathy Giles (Terry) and Sarah L. Truelove; and her sister Lawana James. She is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
