He was predeceased by: his parent Elbert Purvis; his spouse Mable Evelyn Evans Purvis; his grandson Chad Miller; his great grandchild Chandler Alexander; and his siblings, Eva Blount, Ed Purvis, Clifford Purvis, Walter Purvis, Fred Purvis, Nelson Purvis, Wade Purvis and Ray Purvis.
He is survived by: his parent Mattie White Purvis; his children, Randy Purvis (Gail) of Alamo, Keith Purvis of Alamo and Shelia Spires (Derris) of Alamo; his siblings, Geneva Hulett (Dupree) of Macon, Martha Stovall (Clinton) of Alamo, Tommy Purvis (Frances) of Alamo and Don Purvis (Mildred) of Alamo; his sisters-in-law, Mildred Purvis of Macon, Mary Sue Guinn and Jewell Horne; his grandchildren, Robbie Carroll (Sherry), Lori Purvis (William), Billy Gene Purvis (Jennifer), P. J. Phillips (Dusty) and Tiffany Spires (Cason Edwards); his great grandchildren, Kasie Smith (Justin), Maegan Carroll, Kaylee Carroll, Paul Browning, Joshua Browning (Melissa), Adam Browning (Bethany), Luke Browning, Jacob Hale, Noah Hale, Gracie Mae Purvis, Mallorie Walsh (Dylan), Taylor Purvis, Dustin Purvis, Colden Purvis, Dakota Miller, Anslee Purvis, Natalee Phillips, Ace Phillips, Ross Spires, Addie Mae Spires and Evelyn Spires; and his great great grandchildren, Everleigh Smith and Jonah Browning.
