Though Zona may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hershel Pearce and Louise Jeter Pearce; her husband Herman Hart Powell Sr.; and her children, Wendy Marich and Michael Scales.
She is survived by: her children, Clifton Scales (Sheila) of Hawkinsville, Stephanie Kapp (Todd) of Adrian and Herman Powell (Ashley) of Adrian; and her siblings, Wade Pearce (Patricia), Willie Pearce and Connie Hill. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ (230 Archers Pond Smith Rd, Adrian, GA 31002). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ Cemetery (230 Archers Pond Smith Rd, Adrian, GA 31002).
