She was predeceased by: her parents, Noah Copeland and Lizzie Jane Hartley Copeland; her son Sammy "Buddy" Ricks, Jr.; and her sisters, Susie Boyles, Nancy Brantley and Mary Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Pam Ricks of Adrian, GA, Gail Pritchett (Bobby), Allen Ricks, Terry Ricks (Sandra), Jerry Ricks, Tammy Shepherd Scarboro, James Dennis Shepherd and Dublin; and her brothers, Pete, Paul, Harry and Henry Copeland. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
