We are sad to announce that on September 27, 2024, at the age of 86, Earl Shirey of Adrian, Georgia, born in Kite, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Earl has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Shirey and Vicy Martin Shirey; and his brothers, Lamar Shirey and Donald Shirey. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Nunn Shirey of Adrian; his children, Ricky Shirey (Nancy) of Adrian, David Shirey of Adrian and Glenda Coleman (Lamar) of Kite; and his sister Margaret Howell (Milton) of Lake Oconee. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home (427 N Main St, Swainsboro, GA 30401). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home (427 N Main St, Swainsboro, GA 30401). A burial was held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 at the Swainsboro City Cemetery (1 Lewis St, Swainsboro, GA 30401).
