He was predeceased by: his brother Avery Lynch; and his father-in-law Harvey C. Sparks. He is survived by: his wife Tina Matherly of Adel; his sons, James Matherly of Adel and Brad Matherly; his grandchildren, Addison Matherly, Landon Matherly, Payton Matherly, Braiden Matherly, Jacob Matherly and Rena Matherly; his siblings, James Matherly and Mary Meadows; his mother-in-law Arlene Sparks of Maine; and his pet Dixie.
