He was predeceased by: his father Alva Dewey Mashburn; and his daughter-in-law Wanda Shiflett Mashburn. He is survived by: his wife Rubye Hughes Mashburn of Adel; his children, Greg (Sharon Mashburn), Michael Mashburn of Valdosta, Georgia, David (Pam Mashburn) and Dawn Mashburn of Valdosta; his stepdaughter Donna; his son-in-law Mance Cloud of Adel; his grandsons, Ian (Lena Mashburn), Spencer Mashburn of Atlanta, Georgia, Carter Mashburn of Valdosta, Mitchell (Pate Mashburn), Aaron Mashburn of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Trevor Mashburn of Auburn, Alabama; and his stepgrandchildren, Chris Thomas of Valdosta, Jennifer, Kevin Stevenson of Folkston, Georgia, David Stokes of Savannah, Georgia, Trevor Stokes of Adel, Ellen Stokes of Adel and Stephanie Smith of Adel. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
