He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard J. Tyson and Hattie Moore Tyson; his stepmother Effie Little Tyson; and his siblings, Carlton Tyson and Betty Jean Martin.
He is survived by: his wife Madeleine Margarett Croteau Tyson of Adel; his children, Roy (Yon Hui Tyson), Charles "Chuck" (Marilyn Tyson), Lenny (Terri Tyson), Julian "J. R.", Diane (Mike Portbury), Becky (Robert Crawford) and Debra (Greg Saucier); his grandson Steven Saucier of Valdosta; and his brother Charles E. Tyson of Leesburg, Georgia.. He is also survived by numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
