He was predeceased by: his father Elton (Nelda Lawrence); and his siblings, Robert E. Lawrence, Fred "Freddie" Lawrence, Richard "Dick" Lawrence and Linda Lawrence Cowart.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kelly Soper of Jacksonville and Dawn (Roger Higgins); the parent of his children Gail Reed Harper of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Lauren Soper (Jesse Soper) of Seabeck, Brittany (Chad Etheridge) of Elbert, Taylor (Dylan Adams) of Harland and Hunter (Morgan Ingram) of Hinesville, Georgia; and his brother-in-law David Cowart of Adel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Adel Wesleyan Church (214 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel, GA 31620) in his memory.
