He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Hayes and Ella Graddy Hayes; his wife Annette Hayes; and his siblings, Wayne Hayes and Carolyn Futch.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela Medley (Barry) of Adel, Jeffery Hayes (Tammy) of Adel and Jerry Hayes of Valdosta; and his grandchildren, Patricia Youmans (Tim) and Kyla Turner (Billy). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
