He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Wilcox and Lewis Pitts; his daughter Carrie DeLois; and his brothers, Leroy, Benjamin and Raymond Wilcox.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Ruth Thomas, Elkanah Martin Jr. (Bridget), Delphine Collins, Johnnie Collins (LaDonna), Antionette Hopkins (Cleatus), Kent Martin, Delisha Sailor and Awanda Crockett; his siblings, Carolyn Walton, Patricia White and Joseph H. Wilcox (Rudeen); and his siblings-in-law, Edward Crockett (Fannie), Ola Mae Walker, Lillie Mae Walker-Graddic and Mary Ann Walker. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and sorrowing friends.
