He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Loraine, Jack Murdock, Nannie and James Hyatt; his stepparents, Ronnie Pratt and Charlotte Murdock; and his niece Ally Murdock.

He is survived by: his parents, Richard Murdock and Diane Pratt; his wife Crystal Brawner; his brothers, Rodney (Alethea) and Dana (Michelle); his daughters, Kelly Causey (Hunter), Olivia Heater (Jordan) and Sharon Murdock (Julian); his stepchildren, Britni Williams (Justin) and Dakota Holden; and his nieces and nephews, Renee, Brittany Murdock (Dylan), William and Andrew Murdock. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
